HAITI DOME PROJECT

On May 9th & 10th of 2011, CAN-DO performed ground assessments in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham in response to the devastating tornado outbreak that took place in late April. After meeting with Tuxedo Heights resident David Miller, CAN-DO determined that we would help enhance his distribution operation already in full swing. Felicia Stallard and the community of Folsom, LA mobilized our effort by providing water, non-perishable food, clothing, infant/child toys and supplies, and other essential items for those in need. CAN-DO returned to Pratt City and began to set up and distribute these much need supplies to the community of Tuxedo Heights and the surrounding area. Upon arrival CAN-DO with the help of the residents set up three 10×24 distribution tents, a 30ft trailer and truck filled with supplies and donated items from the people/schools of Folsom, LA. We worked collaboratively with David and other local volunteers to provide support in the weeks following the disaster.
